Roca Bulgaria and the Association of Interior Designers in Bulgaria (AIDB), member of European Council of Interior Architects have been working together for years with a shared goal: to encourage the development of interior design and support the professional community in the country. A key element of this partnership is the “Designer’s Club”, a series of professional gatherings held at Laufen Roca Gallery Sofia, bringing together interior designers, architects, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge, ideas, and best practices. Over time, the initiative has established itself as an important platform for dialogue, inspiration, and professional growth within Bulgaria’s design community, while the gallery has become a natural meeting place for collaboration and networking among industry professionals.
The next edition of the “Designer’s Club” will focus on a particularly relevant topic: the real value of interior design awards and competitions. Awards can bring greater visibility, credibility, new clients, and a stronger market position, but they can also represent a significant investment with little tangible return. Through an open discussion, we will explore awards as tools for marketing, PR, reputation building, and business development, while also examining them through the lens of personal motivation, professional recognition, and the potential risks of pursuing prestige at any cost. We will discuss when entering competitions is truly worthwhile and when the time, effort, and expenses involved may not deliver the expected return on investment.
Whether you have participated in competitions, won awards, or are still considering whether to take that path, we invite you to join the discussion and share your experience, questions, and perspective.
