  • LAUFEN Roca Lisboa Gallery
  • Event format:In Person

The Laufen Roca Lisboa Gallery once again welcomes the architects behind projects recognized by the FORMA National Architecture Awards, continuing the dialogue on contemporary architecture in Portugal.

This second session will highlight three categories—Single-Family Housing, Multifamily Housing, and Public Space—offering an opportunity to explore different approaches to architecture, the relationship with the landscape, and the transformation of the spaces we inhabit.

Single-Family Housing

  • Pedro Domingos - Casa Colmeal

An architect who graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Lisbon, Pedro Domingos has run his own studio since 2002 and is also active in academia as a visiting professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico.
Set within the landscape of the Algarve’s Barrocal region, Casa Colmeal establishes a close relationship with the surrounding territory through a volume that frames views of the mountains, Faro, and the sea. The organization of the spaces and the interplay between interior and exterior highlight the light, the materials, and the surrounding landscape.

Collective Housing

  • SIA arquitectura - Atelier Marvila Building

Founded in Lisbon in 2007 by architects Ana Cravinho, Inês Cordovil, and Sofia Pinto Basto, the SIA arquitectura studio develops architectural and residential projects with a special focus on comfort and urban integration.
Located in Marvila, the Atelier Marvila Building draws inspiration from the area’s industrial character. The variety of unit types, the abundance of natural light, and a double facade with tensioned screens establish a dialogue between the site’s history, residential comfort, and urban transformation.

Public Space

  • João Nunes, PROAP - Praia do Lago

Founded in 1989 by landscape architect João Nunes, PROAP is dedicated to design and research in the fields of landscape architecture, public space, and territorial planning.
Praia do Lago transforms a hydraulic infrastructure into a public space for recreation and interaction with water, adapted to variations in the reservoir’s water level. The project incorporates solutions for environmental regeneration, water recirculation, and climate adaptation, promoting comfort and the sustainable use of the landscape.

This session invites you to discover these three projects and to reflect on the role of architecture in enhancing the territory, transforming spaces, and shaping the relationship between people and the built environment.

Admission to the event is free, but registration is required as seating is limited.
